How do I get a job at CV? What kind of training is offered?
- Call Robyn at 503-292-4964, ext. 109.
- She will talk with you about available positions at that time and will ask about your preferences and experience, and suggest times when you can come to the office to fill out an application and to conduct an interview.
- CV gives several hours of paid training at the office, and in the supported individual’s home. CPR and First Aid training, and a T.B. test are required, as well as a background check, and finger printing when necessary.

Supported Living Coordinator
1. Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, degree from a higher education
institution (or equivalent experience) is required.
- Ability to work effectively for and with individuals who receive our services.
- Ability to set and accomplish objectives that are consistent with our mission.
- Ability to maintain records and accurately document service delivery.
- Own a car with liability insurance and have a valid State of Oregon Drivers license.
2. Duties
- Supervise staff, ensure compliance with agency and government policies, and
develop support plans.
- Coordinates staff activities to ensure persons receiving our support have opportunities
at home and in the community that create an optimum range of choice, increased
respect, competencies and community presence.
- Assumes responsibility for supervision, coaching, and appraising performance of staff:
a. Coordinates staff activities and facilitates team building.
b. Priorities and schedules delivery of support services.
c. Ensures that staff is trained to perform responsibilities.
d. Assists staff in development of career objectives.
- Evaluates progress toward agency’s mission and program goals.
- Assures all medical needs for individuals receiving our support are met in a timely and
comprehensive manner.
Supported Living Facilitator
Our Facilitators manage one individual's household. The Facilitator schedules staff, doctor's appointments, and activities at that house, provides daily support at home and in the community, as well as overseeing the paperwork done by other staff members. The Facilitator should be an experienced caregiver. Supervisory experience is helpful.
1. Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively for and with individuals who receive our support.
- Ability to train, evaluate and supervise household staff.
- Ability to arrange staffing for the individual supported within the budgeted hours
assigned for the home, including being flexible in your own work hours to ensure
staffing coverage.
- Ability to learn and understand the systems the individual supported uses for services
i.e., Disability Services Office, Oregon Health Plan, Housing Authority, etc.
- Own a car with liability insurance and have a valid State of Oregon Drivers License.
- At least 18 years of age.
2. Duties
- Assist people who receive our services to grow in their relationships with others in their
community.
- Supervise day-to-day activities as needed (dressing, grooming, bathing, eating).
- Supervise household maintenance (cleaning, shopping, meal planning and preparation)
- Supervise any mobility issues as needed (wheelchair maintenance, mobility in the home).
- Supervise health maintenance (administering of medications and treatments, provide basic first
aid, schedule and attend medical appointments).
- Supervise safety and security (Check emergency equipment weekly, check for potential safety
hazards on a daily basis, assist with contacting appropriate person(s) for needed emergency
repairs).
- Managerial Duties (Schedule support staff as needed on a daily basis, maintain timesheets and a
master calendar of billable hours, maintain an ongoing record of employee performance for
those you supervise, develop personnel evaluations in conjunction with the
Coordinator/Assistant Director, complete a monthly House Review List concerning all paperwork
and safety issues within the home.
Supported Living Companion
Previous experience is preferred, but not required for our entry-level companion positions. The most important qualifications are reliability and a patient, caring nature.

Supported Living Roommate
This position requires responsible, compassionate and patient people as live-in caregivers for adults with developmental disabilities to provide minimal overnight support 5 nights per week in exchange for free room, utilities, some with stipends. This is an overnight position, and that is the only time you are required to be in the home – the supported living roommate position has days and weekends off. Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
1. Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to act independently and function with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use good judgment.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Able to pass criminal history check by the State of Oregon.
Vocational Companion
The Vocational Companion accompanies a supported individual to her/his job and assists in any way necessary or takes the individual out for ATE (alternative to employment) activities in the community. The Vocational Companion must have reliable car and valid auto insurance.
1. Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work effectively for and with persons who receive our support.
- Ability to assist people who receive our services to develop a network in the community.
- Own a car with liability insurance and have a valid State of Oregon Drivers License (may be
optional).
- 1 year of paid or volunteer experience in human or community development services.
2. Duties
- Assist people who receive our services to share resources with other people in their community.
- Assist people who receive our services to develop a more positive reputation and status within
their community.
- Assist people who receive our services to grow in their relationships with people in their
community.
- Provide direct training and related support services to people who receive our services.
- Maintain a positive, healthy attitude when working with individuals we serve, family members,
co-workers and other professionals.
- Develop community opportunities, such as paid jobs or alternative-to-employment (ATE)
activities according to the preferences of the individual and the Support Team plan. - Develop
the individuals' vocational weekly schedule in collaboration with the Coordinator and the
individual.
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as dressing, grooming and eating; the level and
frequency is determined by the individual and/or the support team and the community
situation.
- Other duties as agreed upon with the Vocational Coordinator, the Assistant Director, and the
Executive Director.
